One of the clerks in the general oflice of oneof the railroads of this city was blessed one Friday eveidng by tho gift of a little responsibility. ïhe boys in office were iu ignorance of the fact for severul days. ïhen, as the newly-made parent eutered the oflice, his appearance denoted something unusual, but nothing was intimated by the young man. As he walked to his desk however, ho carne npon a dog, the pet of the establishment, and heretofore an especial favorito with him.
