In answer to a subscriber whose cattle were troubled with lioe, theToranto Globe, ofifers the following: Perseverance in tho use of any of ths remedies for exterminaling lice will be suecessful. Sulphur, mercury, coal oil, or snuff kills lice as soon as it touches them, but it does not kill the eggs. These hatch in a week or ten days, and the lice are as numerous as ever. The remedy should therefore be applied not only thoroughly but once a week four or nve times if necessary, and atables, shedding-post, etc, should undergo a cleansing with a solution that will kill any lice harbored by them. Coal oil is a most efficiƫnt remedy. A meicury ointment is equally good, probably Detter, but ite use is attended ith more or less risk. A good and safe remedy may be prepared as folio ws: - Mix one ounce sulpher with four ounces lard, also four parts kerosene to one of linseed oil.then minglc the two so as to form an easily applied ointment. The wood work around should be washed with kerosene or a weak solution of carbolic aid.
