Ludington 4)190 Ann Arbor was the seventh in ntimber bythe 1870 census anü bassiace beenp;issed by six cities, but in the meantime it bas caught up wlth and passed Adrián and West Bay City. So it now stands elevcnth 011 the list in total population. As regarda coloree! people it bas 301, and is beaten by Detroit, Ypsilanti, Jackson and Grand Rapids, in the order given, our neighbor on the east side of the county having 44G. All of the cities haye g.iined in population except Adrián, Monroe, Kiles, tiac and 1 psilanti. These have lost. The native populatlon of Washtenaw county it will be remembereil, was givcu at 3:i,903. Of these 24,361 were boni in the State; 5,881 in New York; 708 in Oliio ; 452 in Pennsylvania; 273 in Verinont; 189 iu Indiana. The total of foreign born was 7,945, and of these 1,379 came from British America; 1,158 from England and Wales; 1,358 froru Ireland; 3,627 from Germany; 126 from Scotland; 56 from France and 21 from Sweden and Norway.
