About four o'clock Saturday morning the frame house on East University Avenue occupied by Mrs. Wlieeler, was found to be on fire. The alarm was given and the flre department arrived, but tlie flame had full possession of the building, and only the adjacent houses could be saved. It was a doublé house tenanted by Wm. C. Bastar and Mrs. M. M. Wlieeler. The property of the former was mostly saved, vh i Ie Mrs. Wlieeler lost nearly everything, however, thecontents were insured in the Phcenix for $1,000. The house is a total loss, but the insurance of $2,000 in the North America of Philadelphia will probably cover it. Mrs. Robert Turner, of Dexter owned the house. A hot fire liad been in the kitchen stové for a couple of days and the flre undoubtedly originated from a defectiye flue. The neighbors houses were uncomfortably close, and were saved by wet blankets on the roofs and cornices. Another iire occurred Suuday morning by which two barns belonging to Mrs. Boudinot and Mrs. Tomlinson were destroyed, together witli their contenta. The one of the former lady was used for the storage of some books, letters and valuables which could not be saved. The barns were set afire.
