McMillan & Ranilall 011 Iluron strcet will certuinly make thera Lighly deserving of' the title of enterprlsing, and we take pleaaure In furnisliing our readers this week with an atlvanced statement in detail of what lias been but reeently determine] upon. To begin with, therewill beachange in their front froin the present style of glass to Krench píate, furnishing theni with fine display Windows. What has been used as a work-iliop, iminediately back of the salesroom, is to be converted into a veritable Art Gallery with a perpendicular skylight of pleasing desigu and extendinsr somc eight feet above the ctiling, giving an extreme heigbt of twenty-two feet to this room. Mr. líandall informa us tliat they already have the promise of considerable tine work, from amateur and professional artUtS in the east and olher points. It is not inteuded that liome work is to be excluded, f u fr, ra it ; on tiie contrary it is hoped that home talent will eontribute not a little to the general display, one of the inain objects of tlie gallery being the encouragemeut and cnltivation of the highest art in our own city. It is the puipose of the iirm to make the undertakiug permanent if the support of our citizens will warrant it. Just beyond the art gallery n two-story building about forty feet ín length is uow in procesa of construction, the lower Moor of which will be the handsoinely furnished reception room of a new pliotographic gallery under the immediate charge of Mr. S. B. Kevenaugh. The operating rooms just above it are to be fitted lip in ihe most comiilete style. These three rooms are to be connected by archways making a depth of one hundrtd and twenty feet from front to rear.
