Lawu tennis is becoming more than 2ver one of the games of Ann Arbor, and by none is it plaj-ed more than by the professors and students. a number of tennis eourts beiug laid out on the campus. Tliere are other eourts in the vicinity of several of the secret society headquarters. The two uew boilers recently added to the flve already in the central boiler house, were fired up last Friday. We learn that the new lack coal, to the purcuase of whicli sotue objectlons were made in the fall, is being used under these boilers with more satisfaction than the lump coal, and, indeed, it may be used under any of the boilere. The members of the class of '87 that conduct the freshman prayer meeting enteitained their classmates at the Baptist church last Saturday evening. About 123 of the class responded to the invitation and j;athered at the church to become acquainted with each other and to enjoy a social evening together. The reception and entertainment committees did tbeir work well, and all seemed to enjoy themselves. This is the tirst time that any of the churches have opened their doors to aid the Students' Christian Association in jtttt this way, and the memters of the association, and particularly the freshmen, feel very giateful to the Baptist people for their kindness.
