He is satisüed that the feeding is conducted in a mamier conduc've to the health of the animáis, and declares that there is no foundation for reports that hogs are fed on offal from slaughter houses and farms. Pile western people are uxtremely anxious for the adoptioii of an efficiënt systetu of inspection of pork, so that they, as well as foreign markets, could be protected against trichincu and similar Siseases. Therefore, they are willing to co-operate heartilv with every attompt made by the government togive Amercan pork a good reputatiou based upon thoroughly good quality. Two inspectora at oach packing house would be suflicient to thorouíchly inspect all the pork of foreign and domustic markets.
