M. Southard has been sufferlng an attack of quinsy for several days. Mrs. Dodge and daughter are visiting relatives at Spring Arbor, Mich. Theo. Royer returned home Wednesday evening from Pueblo, Colorado. Mis. J. C. Josa and son visited frlends in Centerville, Mich., not long since. Mr. Clay Greene leavesshortly to spend the remainder of the winter in Fiorida. J. .1. Hansey and H. A. Hatch and wife, of West Braneii, spent the holidays in tliis city. Miss Ellen Steere has been yisiting at the houie of her brother, Prof. J. B öteere. Mrs. J. Wm. Hangsterfer spent New Year's in Detroit assisting friends in receiving calis. Turner of Dexter, one day last week. Wm. Harris and wife, of Luke Linden, Mich., arrived Friday night, called here by the sickness of their son Walter. Wm. Mills of Lake Linden lias been in the city about two weeks. He carne down to spend the holidays with relatives. Dr. S. B. Parsons left Tuesday for New York city where he will pursue medical studies for MTeral months. Mrs. Parsons Hccomuanied him. Mr. and Mis. Dr. Overfield, of Houghton, Mich., are in the city. They arrived Sunday night. Mrs. Oyerfield is a sister of Walter Harris, lit '86. George E. Bowers, of Dakota, now spending the winter at Manchester was in town this week. He formerly wieldad the quill on the Hastings Banner. J. N. Fail, Walla Walla, Washington Territory, wa? registered at the St. James this week. Mr. Fall is visitiug his son, E. E. Fall, lit '83, now in the medical department. Hou. C. H.Wines, President of the State Farmers' Institute, to be held in Chelea, .lanuary 22d and 23d, '84, was in the city Wednesday, attending the animal meeting of the W. M. Fire Insurance Company. Prof. EL J. Robeson, lit '75, and wife, who fpent the holidays with Mrs. R.'s pareuts. Mr. and Mrs John Moore, and other relatives, returned Saturday to Port Huron whcre the professor is superintendent of schools. Prof. J. B. Steere attended the Prohibition party convention at Jackson, Wednesday. Messrs. Conrad, Crozier, Saunders, Schumucher, and Wilniot, Mre. Foster, and Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Duim were also in attendance from here. Dr. A. L. Worden, formerly of our city hut now of Des Moines, Iovva, was recently re-elected to the presiding office of the Des Moines Lodge, A. O. U. W. A resolutio was passed, also, expressive of his very efficiënt -services in such capacity during his terra of office just closed. Mrs. F. G. White, Misses May B. and Della V., Albert F., and Willie W.White, recently of Lake Linden, are stopping at Mrs. Harris's, 41 E. Catherine Street. They will probably remain in the city until the close of the school year. H. K. White, who has been attending the high school, left Monday night with his father, Mr. F. G. White, for Leadville, Colorado, where the latter has the superintendency of a mine.
