Usually these taxes are not paid, either becaUM the owner does ïiot know lie has the property, 01 because it may be in litigation. " Taxi s on any lands returned as delinquent may be paid to tlie connty treasurer at any time prior to tlie day of sale, which takê place on the ürst MondayofMay nexi. r.ands sold for taxes on that day come into the Immedlate poasesslon of the purchaser, and cannot be redeemed. lïiddlnjr on these delinquent tcx lands partics do not lncreaee the prlce they will pay for ihe land. but tlie prlce is lixeil and does not change, being the tax asgeased with interest and charges, and the bidder simply says he will take the whole, one-half, one-tliird, one-quarter ov less ot the land. and pay the price nanied by the connty treasurer, wlio conducta the sale. The land will be ftrnck off to the partj who ajrrees to tako the least of it, leavlnjj the balance totlic original owner, and the siiccessfnl bidder jrets a tax deed for only lhe amount of land he bids to take."
