At the regular meeting Moiulay night the usual monthly reports were presented. From fne city recorder'8 report amoiinta as follows are on liaiul of the several ward fiinds : First ward fiind, $940.70; Second, 11,028.00; Third, $202.53; Fourth, $260.10; Fifth, $256.37: Sixth, $29.55. Contingent fund on hand, $7,253.47; general fund, $729.72; general street fund, $162.40. A petition tor aeceptance of the new Union Hook and Ladder Company was referred to the committee on fire depaitment. A resolution to the elFectthat solar time be adopted as the oflic'ml time of this city was carried. The Couucll passed an ord nanee relutiye to inflamable goods, which in substance is as follows : Section I. provides that no person or persons shall keep within the limits of the city of Ann Albor naptha, benzine, gasoline or other like inflamtnable goods of an amount exceeding four gallons, excepting in such place or places as designated by the chief engineer of the fire department. Such articles shall be kept in closed metallic vessels n a secure place away from the tire or any burnrng light. Section II prescribes the penalty for violating or refusing to comply wlth the provisiĆ³n stated, on receipt of wiitten notice from the chief engineer of the lire department. Ou conviction, persons are Hable to a fine not to exceed $50 and costs, and in default of paymeiit imprisonmeut in the county jail for apeiiod not exceeding 90 d;iys is enforced.
