At the annual meeting of the Ladies' Charitable Union, of this city, the t'ollowing officers were elccted for tlie ensuinji year: President. Mis. O. A. Sixteen years have elapsed since the organization of the Ladies' Charitable Union of Ann Arbor, bringing many changes among its members, uitil but six of the original niimber are remaining in the city, and only two of the above numhr are permitted to be present at the monthly meeting ot the socieij. Rut new friends are joining the Union from time to time, thus perpetuating the spirit of the organizution. During the year sijrht regular meetings have been held, with an average attendance of seventeen ; and we close the record of the year which has passed with a membership of thirty-five. Thirtv-one families have been assisted in various ways. Tvventy-oiie families received a Thanksgiving dinner. The amount of money expended by ward committees during the year was $175.81. Of this amount, $69.80 has been expended for new clothing, $J2.26 for grocerles and provlsions, $27.37 for Thanksgiving dinners for the poor, $10.25 for nurses' services, $7.50 for rent, and the balance, $18.63, for special charilies. Second-hand clothing to the value of $133 has been distributed, and baskets of provisions from individuals i'iid church festivals have beer. donated frequently. The society is featly indebted to Mrs. H. W. Rogers for a senerous donatlon ot five new comfortables and two heavy woolen blankets. Amanda Hbnnino, Secretary. THE TRKASURER's REPORT.
