There s some satisfaction in the fact that the Vanderbilt interests have In building and using the Cantilever bridge, furnished wliat It la no fulse preterse to cali a Niágara Falls route. It perhaps is not gracefultospeak disparagingly of the old suspension bridge, which has how gone pietry rauch nto disuse, except for the passage of vulgar freight cars; becausein its day it was more of an engineering wonder tban is the cantilever, and from the wiudows of the cara as they were drawn slowly over it the passengers gathered some idea of the grandeur of the mlghty flood, aad had a good view of the deadly rápida. But, now by the new bridge of the Michigan Central, the travelers who go by this line, which is the only one that can cali itself a Niágara Falls route, fiad themselves right abreast the trunlbling fïood of water, and get an impression of the cataract that will linger in their minds forever. Without charging them a cent extra, the railroad gives the passenger a better view of the falls than he could get in any live dollar hack drive, and the sight is obtained without any delay or annoyance.
