Last Frklay evening as tlie houschold of Alfied Miller were chattlng in the family sitting room in their residence, near the depot, a loud report as of the discharge of :i gun, suddenly broke upon the otherwise quietness of the occasion, from tlie pntry. Of course an immediate lovestigatton waa institnted, and the artillery wus found to have been a seemingly harmless and unwarlike bottle of home-made catsup, which bant without u uioinent's warning by any "sissing"' or apparent "ivorking." The bottle flew into many pieces, some of which went clear into the thiid room (the doors being open) or entirely through the center room. The content scattered over the pantry suelves and w.-ills promiscuously, and mixed its contcnts in 17 paus of niilk. A job is now left forthe cat(to)sup, when another explosión may be looked for, the result of which will be a shower of iiddle-strings.
