At a meeting of Welsh Post, G. A. R., last Friday evening, the following were appointed a cornmittee on Memorial üav : II. S. Dean, E. N. Gilbert, W. B. Smith, Wm. A. Claik, and Eli S. Manly. At a special meeting of the common council, Monday evening, the following resolutions were passed, and Alderman Henderson, Kearns and Ltiick appointed a committee to act in connectiou witli tlie committee of the G. A. R.: Resolved, That the common council will cofiperate wlth the Grand Army Post oí tlils city in the coruniemoratlou services of Decoration Day. Resolved, That a commf ttee of three bo appointed to coöperate wlth a like committee of iheQrand Ariny Post, In muking all proper and uecessary arrangemeutH for the occasion. Resolved, That the Universlty, the public schools, and the varloas clvio societles of the ctty be invlted to take part in the services. Resolved, That the Mayor be requested to Issue a request to our citizens to close tupir places of business during the progress of the procession throuKh the streets and du ring the exerclses at Umversity Hall. Following the aüjounimeut of the council, the joint committee niet and selected Col. H. S. Dean, cbalrman, :int] Wm. A. Clark, secretary. Committees as follows were appolnted : Invitution, E. X. Gilbert, Thomas Kearns, and G. Luick ; vocal music, Prof. W. II. Dorrance and Alvin Wilsey ; printing, H. W. Dean, j. ö, lienuerson, and K. N. Gilbert; instrumental music, E. N. Gilbert and William A. Clark; finance, W. B. Smith and H. S. Dean ; reception of speaker, W. ü. Smitli and J. S. llenderson. President of the day, Col. ir. S. Dean. Marshal of the day, Major Harrison öoule, Jr. The University and public schools will probably be closed for the day. The program has not been fully completed as yet, but Ex.-Governor Austin Blair will delivertiie addiess, probably in the afternoon, in Unlversity Hall. The Orehard Lake cadets have been invited to attend in a body to take part in the exercises of the day. Company A will parade as eliewbere statcd. The joint committee meets at E. N. Gil. bert's office, next Monday evening, at seren o'clock, to complete the arrangements for the dny.
