Meeting of the Pomological Society next Saturday in the court house basement. A very interesting program is promised. The pupils of Mr. O. Schaeberle will give a musical recital, Friday eyening, June 20, in Fireman's Hall, assisted by the Misses Amanda Mack and Jenuie M. Strickland soprano and Mr. Orin Cady, baritone. The first public rehearsal of the school of music will be given at the university, north hall, next Friday evening at 8 o'clock. MissesAngell.Cai uthers.Falconer, Glddings and HM, and Messrs, F. Abel, Jr, Luderer and York constitute the performers. Admission ten cents. The art reception referred to in last week's paper, to be given by the Ladies' Libiary Association, will be held at the residence of Mrs. H. W. Hogers, corner of Hurón and División streets, on Friday and Saturday of this week. Tuis rare collection of etchings and engravings, containing etchings by Peter Moran, Desbrosses, Van Etten, F. S. Church, Jos. F. Sabin, Parrish, and Delatre; and engravings by Sharpe, Gandolfin, and Schultze; and original wood-cuts by Albert Durer, Rembrandt, and Paul Potter, will be exhibited both days, in the morning and afternoon. Professor Denison will deliver a lecturc upon ctching and engraving Saturday evening. The price of admissiou will be 25 cents for each day, the second day including the lecture. Checks will be given visitors w that they may return again tlie same diy without additional charge. Duiing the afternoon of Friday and Saturday light refreshments- eed tea and water- will be served gratuitously to the guests.
