Jean A. Wetmore, '81, Denver, Col., is in the city. C. V. Belscr, who has been teaching in Mt. Monis, III., has retunml, and will ipentl Uie summer In Liiis city. J. B. Henick, '82, is in the city for the week. He has been successfully teaching- in Ouk Park, 111., dor i ng the last year. Fortieth annual conimeneement at 10 a. M. to-morrow, followed by the alumni dinner. President Angeli's receplion is given in theevening. The class day exercises of the literary class occupied both the forenoon and alternoon of Tuesday. At both sessions there was a good attendance, but enthusiasm and class spirit were noticeably lacking. Dr. Clough's lecture on Missions in India before the Students' Christian Association in University Hall, Sabbath evenlng, was largely descriptive, personal observation giving force to hls utterances and enhanciog the interest. The senior reception of '84 at the St. James last night was a most delightful all'air, and conclusively proves tliat a thoroughly enjoyable time may be had even though a majority of the class are opposed to giving a reception. The roller skating rink was used for dancing. About four hundn d were present, who will not forget, we are sure, the splendid success of 'f4's reception given by the minority.
