On yesterday we were Iet into tlie secret and are enahled to present our readers this week with the details of the proposed establishment of a daily paper in ttiia city. It is expected tliat the first issue can bereached in about two or three weeks. Tlie new paper willbe known as the Ecenintj Star, and is to be of the same si.eas the Detroit Evening Journal, sevon columns to a page and i'our pages. In connection with the daily will be published a weekly paper to be known as the Weekly Star; it will probably be issued on Saturday. For tlie pnblication ot the daily and weekly a new Campbell press, steam power, with new type, etc, complete, lias been puichased and are on the way. A 8pecialty is to be made of local and uniyersity news of this city; corre.pondents in varions towns of the county will furnish regular news froin those potnU, special attentioii buing given to Yi6ihinti news. It is expected tliat the Star can be oí: sale in the latter place before the Detroit dailies reach there in the evening. The daily will be issued about 4 p m., and will sell at the same price as the Journal and News. We are indebted to Mr. S. Willard Beakes, the proprietor of the new enterprise, for the particulars as above. Mr. Beakes was a inember of the schools In this cily for several years, and is a gradúate of the class of '83, law department. As proprietor and editor Mr. Beake?, with the arrangemonts already made, ought to make the enterprise a success if a daily in the city can be supported. He has recently been connected with a newspaper in Westerville, O., near Columbus. Look out for the Evening Star. '
