Maine speaks in accents unmistakaWe, the same as clitl Vermont, only witli jtreater emphasis. At the election lield last Monday, Gov. Robie, who was elected n 1S80 by 109 plurality, is re-elected by upvvards of 10,000 plurality. AU of the republican congressmen - including Reed, whom the fusionists were sure of defeating - ara elected, and the legislatura is overwheliningly republican in both branches. The victory is complete. Theru are no fs, ands or buts about it. The people of the state of Maine show confidence in thoir son who carries the bannerof the republican party in their campaign. The foul-mouthed aspersious upon his character emanating f rom the sore-head independents, have 110 effect upon Mr. Blaine at his home where he is known and lionored. Hurrah for Maine, Huirah for Blaine, anti hurrah for the people of the oldplne-trce state who honor both by their wisdom at the ballot box. The friends anti supporters of Albion College who have not lost their heads over tlie Prohibiüon party craze are not exnctly overjoyedat haying Prof. Dickie absent from bis duties so rnuch and running about the state harping upon an idea which is not entertained by the majorfty of votéis in the state, and thereby sturing up antagoninn to himself and the college be pretends to represent. It brings the college into contcinpt, and thereby creates mueh opposition to it with a large eluss of peoplc. We would like to inquire wbether it is with the consent of the college trustees tliat this Dickie leaves the work thcy pay liim to perfoini and spends bis time and energy in outside work. "Tilden and reform" was dispatched with a cypher. "Hancock and reform'1 was relegatcd to the different localities - whicb didn't respond propcrly; and "Cleveland and reform" bus already been punctured with a Hn'pln.
