In the reception of Mr. Blaine at Roclister, X. Y., (wliere 20,000 people had gallicred to do him honor) lie made a brief speech, and in that speech laid down the cardinal principies of the republican party is follows: "First, peace with the whole worhl. Second, commercial expanden in every practicable direction. Third, encotiragement ofevcry form of Anieirean industry. Fourth, protection to every citizen, native or naturalized, at home and abroad." Continuiiig he said : Under these policies tlie republican party tries to conduct the jjovernment ; u„. der these principies the republican party snbinits itself to the jiidgnient of the American people ; on these principies We cotiquee, or on these we are conquered." The issue is plainly and briefly told in those few lines, and the party is ready and anxi ous to meet its opponent on the true issues of the campaigo.
