The result of tbe presidential elcctioii at this writing - Wednesday noon - is still in doubt. The votes n several of the states, New York iticluded, will probablj require the official figures to decide. But the outlook is favorable to II r. Blaine and rcpublican success. The republicatis have gaincd largely in congressinen, but probably not enough to secure a majority in the house of representativos. In this state the republicau central committee claim the election f Alger for gover nor, and a majority for Blaine of 10,000. In this, the second congressional district, Mr. Allen is probably electcd by e8s than 200 majority.
