Mr. Chas. V. Garfield, secretary of the State Horticultural Society, attended the November meeting of the society. Preparations were made for the coming state meeting by the ajipointment of cominittees: Reeeptlon- J. D. Baldwin, O. R. L. Crozier, J. Austlu Scott, W. K. Hcnderson. Music- K. Baur, Mrs. W. F. Bird, Prof. A. Wilsey. Kntertainment- Evart II. Scott, J. E. Sumner, J. J. Parshall, Louis Hall, Waller Wliitlark, F. 0. iluson. Decoration and Supervisión of Exhibit- James Toni", John Allmund, N. B. Covert, C. H. Woodruff, Misses Sarah Fletcher and Cora Bird. The meeting adjourned to two weeks from last Saturday, on the lOth of November. Secietary Garfleld, by invitation of the society, will be presen t'at the next meeting. It is desirable Uut the memben and fiiends of the society makc the next meeting a success. Those desiring to contribute to the fruit exliibit at New ürleans will please bring their fruit on or bet'ore next Frtday, to the house of Secietary Ganzhorn, at the hend of Spring street, four specimens of each kind, wrapped separately in two or more thicknesses of newspaper, witli the name uponalabe), written with ink, each vaiiety to be enclosed in a paper sack, with the name on the outside.
