A prominent dramatic critic says of S'eil Burgess' crcation of Mrs. Puffy, in 'Vim :'' "In the bistory of the sta;c it is not unconimoii for a woman to take a male part, but it is seldom if ever, well doue; but for a man to take a woman's part, eyen an old one, is a difficult one Indeed, and it remained for Mr. Burgess to take this most difficult part, and witli a talent that amounts to a poaitive genius, to créate a character that will live in the listory of the drama, and place his name on an equal with the leading stars of today. Neil Burgesg has captured New York, and for seven months has kept it n one continua! roar of laughter, and bas airly won tlie conspicuously large degree of success he lias met wttta ; a success that ïas not been equaled in New York for vears, if ever bcfore."
