The people of Howell are making a gigantic effort to secure the closing up of the gap existing in the T., A. A. & N. II. R. R. between South Lyoa and Owosso. They huve raised a huge bonus, and are uxing all the inüuence they can wield to have the line extended via that place. This route would run parallel with the D., L. & Northern R. R. from South Lyon to Howell, and also parallel with the D. & M. R. U. frora Durand to Owosso. A far better paying route would have been frnin Ann Arbor through Pinckney and Elowell to Owosso, but it's too late for that.
