W. B. Saxton, of '86, has returned froni a trip to Mackinac, etc. Dr. G. A. Hendricks has been rusticating at Orchard Lake for the past few days. Dr. Vaughan asscrted at the recent sanitary convention at Ypsilanti, that be knew ofone well in this city that hxü furniahed him with six cases of typhoitl fever. " Wlll Mr. E. E. Horg be admitted to the university again !'' is a qucslion we have heard propouaded many tiines upon our streets. The very fact of a perron being cliarged with sucli a crime agüinst the law as Mr. Hogg was charged with, ought to be suffleientto deny any one the privileges of the university. A case m;iy be gettled, but facts cannot be changed by "settlement" between parties. If the Homeopaths of the state desire to have their department of the university 8uccessful, they must get down to business and pull togetber. By dissensions they have brought the Homeopathie school to the verge of ruin, Mid by continued dissensions they will complete the wreek. There is no reason wliy the department of the university devoted to their pathy may not be made a complete success. But it must be by barmonv and united actlon of all llomeopaths in the state. Ypsilantian: "The entertainment glven by the University Glee club at the Opera house, Tuesday evenlng, was attended by a good audience and was thoroughly aopreciated and enjoyed. The Yellow and Blue, prize song, the cigarette song, and the warble by S. K. Pitman, were especially fine, the latter fully equ;illing the great Joe K. Emtnett in bis warbling specialtle8. The club is composed of li nelooking young men, and the university and Ann Arborltes have good reason to be proud of their glee club. The concert glven here was the last to be given by the club this season. The rro.s receipts of the concert amounted to about 75, from which about $20 will be netted Lo the Baptist organ fund." The Knlainazoo Telegrapli of July lst, pays the university tlie following compliment : " Tlio commencement of the university of Jlichigau shows cm liow large a scale its affairg are carriod on. [tf seven departnients gradúate 34S studente, of wLoni nearly half are in the law. The reputatlon of the institution and ita men U at lts height. The prestige of the university and the grand field it lias created for itself have been supplemeoted of late years by liberal grants of state aid, which could not be said flfteen years ago. This work lias brought renown to the state to a degree unknown in the liistory of any new country. With its present means and the strong men it marshals in its facu!ty the university of Michigan enjoya a prosperity surpassing all of its former experience. It has outlived the day of its l'actional troubles and Interna! dist;nsions ani is cotnparatlvely free from the financial straits utlendant on the day of inadequate support. In fact, the advantages enjoyed by a large and well-equipped institution are present in comparative completeiiess in our peerless state university." THK LIBRART CLOCK.
