The bilĂ­ authorizing a " Home for dlsabled soldiers, sailors and marines in the Stutc ot' Michigan, haviug become a law there seems to be considerable inquiry about its provisions. The amount appropriated was $150,000, of whicli $110, 000 s available tliis year, and $40,000 during 188G. The board is authorized to use not exceeding f 10,000 In caring for those entitli'd to assistance during the time the Home is being constructed. It is currently reportud that the gentleman who framcd this bill establishiug this Home, Kepresentative John Nortliwood, of the 3d Sagiuaw district, will be tbe Crst couimandeut, as the superintendent Wlll be termeil. He is a farmer well off. and was a brave soldier, carrying around with him an empty sleeve, his right arm baring been shot off lu battle. His salary will be $1,200 per year. That the people may know who will be admitteil to this Home, the following section is appended : Sectlon 11.
