: The ananal sesslon of the Detroit coni ference of the M. E. church at Pontiuc. i closed on Wednesday evenlng of last week, being held one day longer tlian usual by reason of extra business, a portion of which was the hearing of the case of Kev. Denias Dawe, of the Adrián quarteriy conference, on a final appeal, whose trial occurred at this place some months ago, and which resulted in a conviction at tliat time, our readers will remeinber. The general conference substantiaüy acquitted him of the charges. This action places Rev. Dawe in a far better light in the eyes of the worlil- though it is altogether probable that such changecannot be effected in the evcs of many of the people familiar wlth all the circumstance, and who have pnrticipated in tlie prosecution. It was resolved to hold the next conference at Adrián.
