The followiiig irtiele, relativo to the death of Dr. White, is taken from the Grand Traverse Herald. The deceased was well-known in tliis city, and was greatly respected for his many excellent qualities: Very many Herald readers, who knew Dr. J. L. He seemed very well indeed, but a short time aftcr hls arrival home complained of his head, and in a few minutes dropped over in a stupor, in which condition he remained until lii.H death, Sunday forenoon. He was always active in good works, an enthusiastic helper in the Snndav school, and always rcady to ud la every effort made to help his town anti community. Dr. White was boni in Milburn, III., Dec. 24, 1848. He jrrfMtaated from the literary department of the Michigan University in 1873, and from the medical department i:i 1878; was marned April 5, 1875, to Miss Ktítclla De l'ny, of Ann Arbor, and etime at once to Williamsburg, drlvlng through with his own team. His wife and fonr chiklren survive bim. His mother and brotlier, Andrew White, and sUter, Mrs. Dodge, of Millburn, 111., arrived on Siturday. the day before his death. Mrs. While's mother, Mrs. De Puy, of Ann Arbor, arrived in time for the funeral services, and her brotlier, Dr. K. Q. DePuy, of Jamestown, Dakota, expected to reach here, but was üelayed on the road untll too late. Mrs. Maggie Worden, of Williamsburfr, is a sister of the deeeased. The funeral services wereconducted by the Rev. Mr. Heath, on Wednesday and the remaina were taken to Ann Arbor for burial.
