A special meeting council was held Monday evening last, and in the absence of the Mayor, Aid. Hiscock was cal led to the cha ir. Lawrence the Iiceii8e committee was instructed to investígate the auction business of W. J. Dunstao, and to see if it complied witli the city ordinance. Aid. Luwrence moved that the city Marshal bt dirccted to place himself undcr the orders of Postmaster Duffy evenings, between the hours of 6 and 7 o'clock. Carrkd. The Mayor having arrived, assumed the chair. Tliemembers oí the building committee appointod at the last meeting of the council having declined to serve, the followine gentleman were named as auch Prof. J. IJ. Duvis, Warren E. Walker and N. D. Gates. Hou. A. J. Suwyer addressed the council by permission, with reference to usinjf the ground8 in the rear of the opera house for a wood market. Whlch subject was on raotion referred to the 1 Ícense eonimiüee. Tlie liquor bond of Louis Seyler was received and approved. Adjourned.
