Chamberlain, of the Register, has been in Detroit the greater portion of the week. Miss C. 3. Volland, after an extended Tlsitwith her brother at Grand Raplds.has returned. Chas. 8. Hathaway of Mass., is spending the week with his friends H. Ranüall and I. B. Best. Geo. Jenkiitsand wife, of Jackson were in the city over Sunday, visiting relatives and friends. Clias. K. Itackus of Detroit, has been in the City during the week, settling up his father's estáte. Eugene E. Beal has been contined to his house several days by a severe attack of erysipelas. Mrs. Frank Hinckly, of KerrCity, Fla., is visiting her sister, Mrs. Paris Bantield, on N. Main st., Mrs. D. Cramer has been called to Hamburg by the severe illness of her mother, Mrs. Twitchell. Miss Myrtle Bernard, of Jackson, has been visiting Miss Anna Frueauff, on N. State st., during tlid week, Etl. Buehler, of Pottland, Oregon, has been in the city yisiting frieuds, golng from here to Rochester, N. T. Aniong the depositors in the recently wrecked bank at Lancaster, Pa., was Miss Alice Hunt, the artist, of this city, A. L. Noble, who has been coniined to house for the past inouih or more, is yet unable to attend to busines?, we regret to state. L. B. Howe and wife and Mrs. Williara Ho we of Fairport, N. Y., are in the city olosing up the estáte of their late mother, Mrs. Lucy Howe. Mr. Wilson, who bas been visiting lier brothor C. L. Pack, on N. Ingalls st., for several weeks, icturned home to Jordán, N, Y., last eveuiug. Jay Keith, who bas been study ing stenography with Mr. Moran in this city for the past twelve weeks, left Monday for liis home in Dexter. Miss Emma Waetscli of this city returns Fiiday from a two weeks vUit to Flat Rock, Michigan, where she was the guest of Miss Ennt Sacks. Uev. W. W. Ramsay delivered a lecture last evening in the chapul of the Central M. E. church, Detroit, his subject belng " William, f nuce of Orange." John Miller, who has been with his famly for several weeks, leaves the city Frlday for an extended trip through the middle and western States, lasting untll the last of June. A little sleigh-ride party went out to Mr. Warner'son the gravel road Friday nlght and enjoyed a dance. The last one was a Virginia reel in whlch three generations ot' the Warner tamily took part. Last Monday the following business men of the city visited Detroit, Joe T. Jacobs, C Mack, Frank Howard, R. Kempf, D. C. Fall, John Keek, W. 8. Hicks and J. W. Haniilton, all happening to take the ¦a n ir train. Edgar White and wifo with Mrs. Minnie, of Port Huron, and Mrs. Dr. Harvey nee Miss Hattie Pomeroy, of Detroit, are the guests of Mrs. Jas. Jones, of the 5th ward, who celebrated her 81st birthday last Monday, and is yet in full health and vigor. The following persons were in attendance upon the Foster libel suit at Detroit, Tuesday, last: Dr. W. F. Breakey, D. Cramer and wife, Mrs. Bourne, Miss Wright, Will A. Hatch, Nelson Sutherland, E. B. Gidley, of this city, and Mark Lowry, of Chelsea.
