The following resolutions upon the death of Mrs. Howe, were accepteü and adopted at the weekly meeting of the V. C. T. U., held February 2d, 1886 : Wherkas, Our Heavenly Father has removed from U8 by death our beloved and hlghly esteemed sister, Mrs. Lucy A. Howe, therefore, Resolved, that the Woman's Christlan Temperance Union feel that they have lost one of their most faithful, tried and true Chrlstlan Helpers, Resolved, that whlle we so deeply feel the absence of her presencu wlth us, ner counsel, words of cheer, her ever ready, wllllug heart and hand in every work tendlng to the benefit of mankind and especlally of whom our Saviour sald, ye have always wlth you, ye may do them good whensoever ye wlll. Re$olved, tbat our Juvenil Teraperance and Industrial School has lostone of lts most efficiënt teachers, her earnest zeal, untlring efforts and punctuallty In the performance of every duty, lnereases the reallzatlon of our great bereavement, anti parlicularly in thls hour of devoted energies to the work as was hers, Retolved, that while we would ever bow wlth gentle submission to the wlll of our lovlng Heavenly Father we wlll devoully plead for renewed consecration of every sinter In the work, and that the good spirit will lead maiiy to take up the labors ol lier whose toils are nowdone, that the remembrance of her ardor may stimulate us to greater activlty tbat we muy be as we believe slii! was, ready for the sweet message : well done, come np higher. Resolved, that u oopy of these resolutions be placed upon our mlnutea and sent to our city paters for publicatlon.
