Wlll the best Universlty, and many wooden and ron bridges, and a very nice passenger depot draw good people to a city where no law or order is respectad (semi-barbariaus) ? Ob, no! Good people will stay where they are, and not run tbc risk of unitinj: their fortunes witli a lawless people. You invite only such as care for prolits, and they don't like law and order. We have some such among us and need no more. Ann Arbor is as good and law abidinjj a city, as you eau find; with 1400 strangers younjr meu and woracn in ourlimits. and as little pĆ³lice business as we have, where is its like? Will we be better governed when the Law and Order party succeeds; will we have inore and better citizens; more law and order?
