Allinaiul exhibited a Kochester basket at $8 per 1000 bere, bushei crates at 76c here, bushel baskets at $1.50 er dozen, withont covers at A. W. Wells, Ht. Joseph, Jlich., freight 55c. er 100 pounds. L. C. Palmer, of Dexter, is getting ready to manufacture fruit jackages. He thinks baskets can be made lor $5 per 1000. He was encouiaged by the society. E. Baur reported on giape rot that he wasauthorized by Prof. Spaulding to state, that his invistigatiou was not completed, he had found the iungus also in the bark and would lu time report something definite and practicable. If he could have onc variety only he would choose the Brighton for all purposes. Of the new varieties, the Empire State, a white, and the Ulster Prolific, a red grnpe, were very highly spoken of. Baur were appoiuted a committee to ui'iid pititlonb from Washtenaw Pomological Society recummendinff the Bureau of Pomologi to Kepresentative Kldredge and Senator Palmer. The society remembered thei absent president, and the secretary wa requested to express their beartfel svmnathv with the atllicted and sullerim.
