Maria Field dled in Alpena, Monday, April 26. She was born May 5, 1804, her 1 father's name being James Briggs and ' hr grandfatber being the flrst settled minister in Cummington, Mass., 1794. She was twico married, first to Dr. Packard, then after bis denth.in 1S30 she married Dr. Junius Field, inovibg to Unadilla, Livingston Co. With bim she had four children. After his decease in 1867 she moved to Dexter, and a few years ago she went to Alpena to be near her only lemaining son, James E. Field. SUe was an aunt to Lewig W. Briggs, of Dexter, and (rrandinother to Junius L. Beal, of this city. The remains will be brought from Alpona and interred to-morrow moniini; by tbe side of her husband in Unadilla. Sue was a woman of strong character, an earnest, sincere Christlan and hermind was well-stored witli knowledge of literature and science. She thus lived to a good oíd age and not without doing in ml i good to others.
