uouncil met in special sesslon t rlday eveiiing, May 28th. The meeting lmving been called tor the purpose of acting on the City Treasurer's bonds and the bonds not having been completed, on motion of Aid. Martin adjiMiriiuu-iit whea it took place, was tu be uiitil Tuesday evening, June lst, in order that the treusurer ïnlght complete bis bond. The City Attorney reported tliat n bond had been executed by tbe Savings IJunk with reference to the matter of interest on city deposita. Interest at the rate of five anil one-half per cent. is to be paid on all deposits. The City Attorney also reported that the title to tlie O'Neil propcrty had been investigated by hini and having found it perfect, the purchase of the property for $2,500 had been consumated; the deed to the city being placed on record. On motion of Aid. Almendinger the cnre of the O'Neil property was placed in the hundo of the Street committee wlth power to dispose of the building and earth to be moved as in lts judgment might be advisable. On motion the council tlien adjojrned. TUKSDAY E li.MMi MICKTINd. Another special session of the council was held last evening for the purpose of approving the bonds of the Savings Bank and the treasurer. The city attorney presented the bond of the Anu Arbor Savings Bank, in tbe gum of $50,000, with Chas. E. Hiecock, cishier, C'hristian Muck, W. W. Wines, Daniel Hiscock, W. D. Harrimin, David Rinsey and Willard B. Smith, as sureties. Which was accepted and approved. Aid. Ware offered an ordinance relativc to the use of stallions wilhin the city limita, and moved its adoption. Aid. Kearns moved that the ordinance be referred to the city attorney to report at the next regular meeting of the council. Carried. The City Attorney, being called upon, expressed ao opinión, that, strictly speakinr, he belisved that a vacancy existed in the office of City Treasurer, but that tbo council could legally, if it chose to do so, vet accept and approve the bonds of the gentleman elected to that position. Aid. Maltin moved that the couiicil proceed to the election of a new city treasurer. Aid. Swift moved that the matter be deferred until the next regular meeting of the council. Carried by an aye and nay o e 10 to 3. Aid. Ware offered a resolution directng the city marshal to request the janitor to provide the council room with drinking water on meeting nights. Carried. Council Uien adjourned.
