Next Sunday evening Prof. Winchell wlll dellver au address before the Cocker League, having for his subject " Kvolution and Theism." The Knights of Libor have decided to give a grand excursión ou Saturday, June 2CtI), to Orchard Lake. Wait for t for It will be the excursión of tlie season. The ladies of Baptist church of this city will, on Frlday, June 18th, give an entertainment that will be both unique and novel, something never before seen by our Deople. The Chinese Students' Company, from the mission schools of San Francisco, will give an evening of genuing amusement and instruction, and in connection therewith the ladies of the Baptist church will give a Chinese supper, every one partaking to be presented with a souvenir napkin, and given a drink of Chinese tea- the pure article as the "Heathen" himself drinks it. Remember the date, June 18th. COMMENCEMENT CONCERT. The arrangements huve been virtually completed for the symphony concert to be given at university hall on the Alouday evening of coinmencement week, the 28th day ot June. The concert is given under the auspices of the graduating class of the university and by the co-operation of several of the musical societies of the city. The principal feature of the concert is a grand orchestra of thlrty pieces, selected for the occasion from the best musical talent of the state, and under long and careful practico for this event. The playera will include both the Speils, Vortrübe, Abel and Luderer. The orchestration will be full and complete. There will be rendered, first, .nat most fainous of all symphonies, the Fifth of Beethoven. Then the ever popular and favorite music of the Midsummer Nighfs Dream, by Mendelsohn, will be rendered. There wlll be played also a number of lighter pieces. Miss Caruhers will appear for the first time in the arge hall and will render two numbers. 'he Amphion club are to sing an original setting of Tennyson's Bugle song by Koss Colé, our young Ana Arbor gentleman, who8c talent for musical composiion is muking itself favorably known. The concert is receiving fiattering support frotn the uniTersity people and promises to be a bnlliaut succesa. The getting up of a musical affair of tuis magnitude is necessurily attended wlth a great expense and financial gaiu is a secondary consideration. The securmg f the concert liere has been done by subscription, and the principie object is to add to the attrrctions of conunmencement week. The ticket will be put on kle at the book8torcs early.
