At her home iii Northville, 011 Juno 3J, Julia E Beal, of atropliy of the li ver. She was bom in Iosco, Livingston Co. Dec. 10, 18C3. The winters of 1884 and '85 she pHHsed in tliia city studying music nnd paintlng, becoming especiully (proficient in the latter witli a view of glving instructlons in it. In these studies her faithful application was particularly noticeable even perhaps to the detriment of her heakh, and on her easel, at which she worked almost to the last, was left an unfinished palnting intended for a cousin who graduates tuis year from the university. For a short time 8he had been failing in streugth, but her friends and relatives so Iittle8uspected thata fatal disease had fasteDed itself upon her, that her gudden death was a great shock to them. Tlie leaving of life, with all its brlgbt promises before her, was foreknown by her and aftcr bidding tlie mother, brother and sisters a farewell she expressed an entire willingness to go, since ahe put her trust in her Saviour. Thus slie peacef ully died as she had gently lived, beloved by all for her gentleness, generosity, forgetf ulness of self, and thouglitf ulness for others. Never did she speak unklndly of, or to others. All the vlllage loved her, and at the funeral which took place Sunday afternoon at her late residence, there was an Immense concourse assembled to pny a last touchlng farewell to Julia. The Sunday school children bore flowers wi;h wlnch they strewed the casket even to hiding It. Such a pure, gweet life is an inspiration to live o that deuth shall have no more terror to us than it did for her gentle spirit.
