The Daily Sun, published at St. John, New Brunswick, luis a long account of the recent bicycle tour "down east," from which we take the following: The tourists are stopping at the feoyal. Last eveain Chas. B. Duvison, of Ann Arbor, Midi., after expressing the retrete ol the party over the accident which befell their manager, sald Mr. Elwell woula hardly be able to particípate In any of thelr parades, etc., in thië city, but tlmt he would be uil right iu a few days. In spoaking of the tour, Mr. Duvlson said Mr. Klwt'll had nianaged trips down east in 1883, along the soutbern coast of Maine; In 1884, up the Kennebec; in 1885, from SIooReheail Lake to Bar Harbor; also in 1885 and March o( thi year Bermuda trips. All these tours were manged and carrieU out in a tirst clans marnier, but the present tour lur eclipses all previous ones in every respect. He brielly gaid : We struck .rand Falls on the 17th nsL The hext day (Sunday) was speut at the falls, t'xaiuininx the fcenery and climbiug the rocks. Monday moruing we left Ciraud Kalls and rode to Andover. The partv cauie down the Tobiquu in canocs iu charge of Indiana and iminy of the party enjoyed their lirxt sail in a bark ciinoe. Tueeday Florenceville was reached, and Wednesdáy at noon the party rode into Woodstock. The afternoon quickly pas6ed in doing tho town, and Thurïday at 8 a. ui. the ride to Fredericton was entered upon. The night wiis spent at the halfway house and Friday mornlng the trip to Fredericton was resumed, the celestial being reached at 2:30 p. m. The run from Grand Falls to Fredericton was thoroughly enjoyed, remarked Mr. Davison. Thescenery alocg the river is siinply grand. The roads were Iu excellent condition, and wlmt was particularly acceptable to us, especial ly on a warm day, was thegoodcold water to beot all long the route from the gpiing.s. The clearest nd best water met by any of the mrty was procured from thee spriugs, ml 3'ou can imagine how it was enjoyed n a warm day. Between Grand Falls and Fredericton we averaged slx miles an hour, which uiay be consldered pretty good tmveling when you take in all the siclits. At Frederieton we were most hospita)ly entertained by the citizens general ly. )n Friday we were serenaded by tbe city and at the Queen hotel, who played several American airs which marie us imagine wc were in our native land. Maiysville was visited and the great cotton mili, the rctty cliurch and all the surrouiuliiijis aken in. We rode to Mr. Gibson's goinj; )y the bridge and returned with r lieavy lead wind all the way in exaclly 25 minutes. Sunday was quietly speiit in visitng the churclies. Mr. Davison spoke very higlily of the attention show by K. B. Humphrey, the opular manager of the Union line, who iccompanied tliem down the river. The )icyclists were very much impressed witli lie rlver and its scenery. Mr. Davidson concluded an interestinr iccount of their tour, by declaring that never had he met a more hospitable set of Hjople tlian New Brunswickers. The peole through the entire country seemed lot to be able to do enuiijrli lor them. Jiiniuit K. Beal, editor of the Couriku, Vim Albor, Michigan, is ulso u member f tlie party. Mr. üeal was loud in his praises of the trip. Tliejceuery oi the up)er öt. John he thought the fiuest Ue li:ul ver seen. There 8 no way, Mr. Beal declared, that the natural beiiutios of ivcounry can be so thoroughly een as oii a blcycle. We rode thronjfh the country to a creat extent leisuri'ly, admiring tlie mtuiy leautiful seene8along the St. John. Tlir roadg were round in splendld conditlon. They are kept far better than tlie country roads of tlie United States. We h;id an official photographer with us and he has taken numerous view? at Grand Falls and all along the river between Andover and Frederieton. The hospitality of the peoale we wlll never forget. I never met people rigbt through so desirous of doliiR iverythitig possible for a stranger as I have siuce 1 entered New Branswick.
