The republicana of Washtenaw coimty met in convention by delegat es, it the City Hall, Tui'Silay forcnoon, and the meeting was called to order by Win. M. Osbaml, of Ypsilanti, chalrman of the county comtnittee. Geo. I). Crippen, onc of Superior's brirht youuji republicana, was called to the chuir, and Wm. Dansingburg, of Augusta, was choseu as teniporary secretar}-. A commlttee on credentiala was nppointetl, consistlng of M. M. Wood, of Sylvan, Geo. C. Smithe, of Ypsilunti und M. II. Goodrich, of Ann Arbor. Comniittee on permanent organlzatlon and order of business - I. N. S. Fotter, Ann Arbor town; Geo. II. Pond, Ann Arbor city, Perry L. Townsend, Superior. Adjourne-d uutil 1 o'clock p. ni. Upon re-assemblinj; the temporary offtcers were made permanent, and an order of business udnpted. The -coinmUtee on credentials reported nearly luü delegatlons froni the various preciucU, Upon motion of Hon. A. J. Sawyer, Frederick Braun, of Anu Arbor town was nomiuated by aoolamatioa lor the ollice of sheritF, with a wboop. Frank Pettee, moved the suspension of the rules and the nomination of Win. A. Clark, of Ann Arbor city, by aeclamation for county clerlt. Carrled nnanimnusly. Peter W. Carpente1', of Ypsilanti, was Domlnated by acclamaUon for register il deed?, amidst ;reat euthusiasm. The name of Stephen V. Patrchlld was presented and un&nlmously uomlnated for the ollice of county treasurer. For tlie officfl of procacutlng attomcv Eugene K. Dean for oofoner, and John K. Yocum, of Lyndon, for eounty surveyor, completed the work of the convention.
