Kvery member-elect of our legislaturc is especially interested in the subject iü-oussed, and the remedies for the evils proposed. Tbc rail roads should take some action in respect to heating their curs by other meuns than by stoves, without being forced so to do by the law. If .MillUieiit steam can be generated by the nginee to warm the cars by the Bteam heating process, it would appear to solve the problem. If not, Uien a lieating apparatus of porne kind could be gotten up, to be located In one end of the bagira;re or express car to accomplisli the beatlng of the cars. This subject is of great interest to the enttra public, and as Harper'l Weekly 8ays, it should not be iieglected. Our legislature should take the initiatory steps this winter. The protection of human life should be the tirst thing to be considerad by our hiw makers.
