It will be remembered thatafter execuling a chattel mortgiijte upon all of bis stock, flxtures, and book accounts, John Keek assigned severa! thousanJ dollars worth of book accounts to the Anti Arbor Savlngs Bank, the polnt being made that it was illri;,-il or rather that it was iinpossible for a man to to chattel mortgage book accounts. Now the question will be settled by the courts, Mr. Aprill claiming thut his chattel mortgage holds the accounts. It is a nice question, and the decisión will be looked for with interest by business men and lawyers. Rob't Snyder of Webster was given a pleasant surprise on Saturday, Jan. 8th. The annual meeting of the Washtenaw Mutual fire Insurance Company was held at the office of the secretary in the court house basement, last Wednesday, p. m. The main business being the readinr of the annual report, and choosing a board of directora. After a spirited contest H. D. Platt, of Pittsfleld; E. A. Nordman, of Lima; Emery E.
