C Peterson has moved next door south into his new house. Frederick Schmid took a business trip up to Comuna last Friday. Mrs. C. A. Lee and son, of Detroit, is visiting at D. F. Schalrer's. S. S. Blitz has moved into M. C. Peterson's house on 8. Fourth st. Sheriff Whitmore, of Lenawee county, was in the city last weck, on business. A party of young people went over to Saline last Monday evenlng, and had a jolly time. G. M. Monroe returned home for a few days vislt last Saturday, and reporta the west booming. A progressiveeuchre party was enjoyed by a pieasant company at Chas. Spoor's Friday evening. S. P. Jewett, who has been confined to his house for three months took his flrst sim tmth to-tlay. Mrs. Hattie Heyford and son of Cananduigua lea ves for home to-morrow after a week'g visit with her sister, Mr. Will R. Payne. County Clerk Howlett has rented Mr. Quinan's place on E. Washington st.. and will move his family here the last of the inonth. On Thursday evening last thefrlendsto the number of fifty of Mr. and Mrs. Gould and B. F. Boylan gave them a pieasant surprise. L. A. Barnes and C. E. Fisher of the Ypsilanti school board were in town Friday looking up the heating and ventilating of someof our school buildings. Dr. E. H. Pomeroy, wife and child of Calumet, are in the city to-diy, visiting Mrs. P's sister, Mrs. Frank LoomU, on E. Ann . From here they go to Florida. John B. Dow went to Concord, Saturilay inorning, to attend the funeral of a sister-ln-law, Mrs. Dr. W. N. Keeler, who died Thursday,;Feb. 24tli, of consumption, ajed 48 years. Willis Boughton has accepted a position with the Central Publishing House, of Ciucinnati. Ohlo, and enters upon his duty at once. Mrs. Houghton will have charge of the circulating library here. James A. Robison, who has been under treatmeut by Dr. Frothingham for the past two weeks for an inflamed eye, left Monday inorning to take up hls work again ou the Free Press. Messrs. J. Q. A. Sessions, K. Kittredge, W. H. Henderson, F. Stofflet, Chas. Richards mul Aid. A. F. Martin went to Ypsilanti Monday evenlng to attend a ban quet given by tlie Royal Arcanuin Council of that city. They returued early yesterday mornlug.
