It was the dances of varioiis mitions- a wonderfa] vuricty, ranging from thejolly Iri-li ivel to the voluptuous Spanish Cachucha with lts slow graceful movements of wliite arms and fair forum Hut that Trish reel, danced by Misses N. Hobari and M. Walsh with Jas. Harkitis and M. C. Sheelian, brought down the house. The lirltlsh Sailor's Hornpipe was novel and well ezecutcil, but for that matter, so were all the dances by all the dancers; for no observable breaks occurred, and everything went as smoothly as things are accustomed to go under Prof. de Pont'l skillful training. The dance of ench country was appropriately costumed in the uatlonal dresa of tbc people. For instance, the Polish were i la militaire from ftmther in hat to boot on foot; The Swiss had sickles and rakes for theirharv.stdar.ee; tlieSootch lmd plaid; the Freoob, lich dresses, powdered hair and patches of court piaster on their faces as tliey walked through the stately mciisiircs of the Minuet. Each numlitr was proceded by the National ir of that country. Mauy of the dresses were rich an.l fh jrant, :nnl their variety was strikingly noticeablc in the erand tubleiiu t tlie IhiLsli when all were artistically groupeil togetlier under the electric llsht. The benefit to Prof. de Pont realizad well aiul everyone was pleased at it for he has been so untiring, so hopeful of sucoess and so patiënt in training to details tliat but for liim it never would have been accotnlilislied.
