This tnortiing about 9 o'clock, a Michigan Central frelght train westward bound struck the rear cud of another freight that was standing on the main track, about 20 rods cast of the depot in tliis city. The engine and tender, four freight cars and the caboose were badly wrecked, but luckily no lives were lost, the engineer and firemati jumping; just in time. The fault of the accident lieg with conductor Beam, ot the train that was struck, who neglected to have the semaphore rttiscd or send back a tlagman. It wa impossible lor the englneer of the last train to sec wliat was ahead ns thcre Is a decp curve, lined with tall willow trees, at tliis point. The wreek was cleared so that trains were delayed only about threc Jioiirs.
