The following semi-annual appoitionment of primuiy school tumis lias been rcceived ly County Clerk Ilowlett: Don't be blind to the interest of your own place. Wlien a strnnger comes luto a town witb view of locating and going into business and finds a lively, energetic, go-ahead elassof people, he generally concludes that lt ia a place in wliich to cast bis lot. Aud wlien a little vlgorousblood Is infused into a town it is a comparatively easy matter to keep tilinga moving. On the contrary, f a business man comes into a place and finds the streets well filled - wltu Ioafer8, and wlth street corner prophete, wbo assure him that the city is dead, has no future prospect, etc., etc., if lie be a sensible man lie will buckle on lis sandal.-1, take a hitch on his girdle, hake the dust oi the somnolent city fn m lis f eet, and lile hímself to a more a - reciative community. There m:iy be uithing in the above applicable Aun Arjr, and again there may be. Our lovely ittle city has all the advantages in the vorld to enable it to beeome a city of imortance. Nature has done much for t, nd now it remains for the citizens themselves to do soniething. If some of the ore heads would cure their sores by a lite hard work and devote as inuch of heir time and energy to working for the ood of the town as thcy do to fighting all advancement, there would be a change for the better in short order. Buoni the town. If you can't say a jfood word for it, don't growl about tbose who are trying to build il up. Here is a mathcmtic.il poser that the editor of the Northville Record piopounds: "A freight conductor got on tlie rear end of his train at the depot here as it was going south. He walked on the top of the train and got ofl" tlie engine as the train arrived at Plymoutli- four miles distant. The train was an eighth of a mile long. Did he walk or ride to Plyinouth? How far did he walk and how far did he ride "
