The clerks of the quarter sessions say that about one fouith f tbe appllcutions will be eltlier withlrawn or disregurded, and that the total numbt-r of ücensed places in Philadelkia after May 1, 1888, will not exceed ,300, as against the tí.OOO premian uow icensed under the old law.
