At a meeting of the School board, held Tuesday evening, the following proamble and resolution were adopted: Whkiias, Tbe 8tadent'8 ChrUtlan Atsoclatlon ha made appllcatlon to purchase land off from the sonth slde of the premisas uwned by the school district, on tbe west stde of State struet, betweeu WHllam and Jefferson gtreets, aDd WiiKiiKAs, i'i.H board of trustees lias no power to sell and convey such land unless by authorlty of the legal voters of the district glven at a meeting of such voterg legally held. Thefeiore litiolred, That the secretary cali a meeting orthe quallQcd votrrs of tne district, at Kirtniiin'8 Hall, on the lOth day of February, 1888, at 7 o'clock p. in., to act upon thequestlon, whcther tliey wlll authorlze the trustees to deed one or two rods of laudoff from the South slde of the premlseg owued by the district, on State treet, between JeSergou and Wllllam btreets, to the Htudeot's Chrlstian Assoclatlon or the Unlversity, upon such terms as the board of trustees deern Just and proper.
