In the article mentioned, that paper says in doleful language that tlie two dolíais duty on lumber pats a premium ou the destruction of our tioble forests, which destruction is caiisiiijt all the rivera In the country to dry up, and all because of the ruinous (?) pollcy of protection, and urges as a preventive, that all "vote for Cleveland and tariff reform." In the same article it congratúlales the farmers of the country on the proposed removal of the duty mentioned (as per the recently horn tariff bill) as dow they will no lonjjer be deterred from erectiiifr buildings becaiue of the high price of that article; admittinL thereby, that more lumber will bc uaed under free trade, which, of course will necesitate a greuter deatructinn of forests, and the consequent drying up of all the river8 of the land!
