The Starr Opera Company, whlch comraences a week 'a engagement at the Opera Hon.se nezt. Munday evenlng, are not strangers In thls city, but the following concerntng thelr opening attraction, taken Trom the Allentown.(Pa) Chronlcle and News, lsof loterest : " Peoplo never neem to to tire of the brlght and prelty llttle opera, "The Mascotte." l.n-.t nlght when the Sturr Opera Company opened n three-nlghtB' engagement at Muslo Hall, therewan one of the largest audlenceH of the seuson present,- "Mascotte" was cleverly sung, nnd the Company made a favorable lmpresslon upoa thelr flrst appearance In Itus city. It is a niistnke to suppose that cheap and iinpi i ntt-ii gtationery 8 a matter of economy for business men, says the 8clentific American. It should be borne in iiiinil by every busiuess man that hls letter paper Is ti is representative to many people who have nevcr seen him, and wbo are llkely to form tlieir judginont of him, to a larjje extent, by the qualities of bis proxy. A man who uses povertystricken stationery stands in a bad lijfht to those lie addresses himself to. For the sake of economizing r few cents he jfratuilously prejudices liiinsclf in the opiniĆ³n of many people wbo may be of impur tunee to him ; for good stationery ii like a good suil of clotheĆ¼, and so lonjt as men continue to judge f rom appearances, they wlll flnd both of value to them. In looking over some old papers a few laya sloce, John J. Roblson came acroas an extra of the Wayne, (N. Y.) Sentinei, sent to liis father Andrew Roblaon, at the time, under date of Frlday, Feb. 15, 1828. announclng the death of Governor De Wltt Clinton. The announcement reads queer for these days of rapld coramunlcation : "By the ar'riyal of a gentleman from Genera, this afternoon, we receired the tnelancholy iutelliirenceof the death of Governor Clinton, on Mooday eveninp last, and halten to lay it before our readers in an extra." The " Extra " is a sheet 8x10 Inchei in slze and contalns a cllppinpr from the Albany Argus and one from the Albany Advertiier.
