On the contrary, however, it is not oníy the exhibilion of a trick, but is absolute proof that the baking powder which so acts is adulterated. The chemists have ascertaincd that the adulterant used is a chentical added for the expre3s purpose of produeing tliis action and decelving bousekeepers as to the true value of the baking powder.
