The 2d Baptist Church

On Sunday the 29th lnt., at 3:30 o'clock p. m„ the corner stone of the 2ü Baptist ehurchof AnnArbor, is tobe laid ExGovernor Felch bas kindly consented to give an address on the occasion and will be invlted to conduct the ceremonies of the p. in. President Angelí will be present, If in town, from whom we shall have words of good cheer. Dr. S. Haskell has also consented to be present, who will glve us sorae good encouraging talk. All tne pastors and ministers in town are Invited to be present, with their conereirations aa far as convenient. Their lot at the corner of Pontiac and 5th sU being paid for with about $70 in ham), the cuurch believed the time liad come to arise and build ; and right heroicall v thev went at it. J J Their snccess thus far has exceetled their most sanguine expectations. The basement walls are tinisheit and all thus far paid for, with a good out-look for the future. To learn their need of g suitable house of worship, is only to see where they have met for worship for years past. The substantial help they have received encoiirajces them to believe that they have the conndeuce and the sympathy of the Chrlstian public. We are glad for their success, for though poor we believe them worthy. Their pastor, the Rev. Mr Lewls U a successful and self-denying minister of the gospel; and we beíieve him worthy of the confidence of all good citizens. He, and any member o? the church soliciting aid for said church, is most heartily comrnended to the coufidence of the people, by the former pastor of the lst church and mvself.
